Receiving an offered chemical

The following walkthrough describes how to receive a chemical that has been offered to you.


 

Notification of an offered chemical

If chemicals have been specifically offered to you by another group, you will receive a notification via email, and the suitcase icon will appear at the top of your LabCup screen.

Click on the suitcase icon to review the offered chemicals.

The list of available chemicals appears at the bottom of your screen. 

Scroll down to have a closer look.

The list will include chemicals that have been specifically offered to you as well as those that are generally available for anyone to claim

Note: currently there is no way to distinguish between these types, but LabCup are working on including this in an update

At the moment, a certain amount of communication outside of LabCup is required to indicate to someone that you have specifically offered them a chemical.

Select on the desired chemical.

The chemical’s information screen opens.  Here you can check that it is something that you need, and any storage requirements it may have.

When you’re sure you want it, select the three dot menu button at the top-right.

Select ‘Receive inventory’.


 

Picture 6 - Select the correct group / responsible preson / location etc.

Select the correct group, responsible person, location and sublocation from the relevant dropdown lists.


 

Picture 7 - Select RECEIVE

Select ‘RECEIVE’.


 

Picture 8 - the amended inventory will be saved

The ‘Inventory saved’ message appears at the top-right, the item is now registered with the new information.

Click on the ‘X’ in the top-right to return to the original screen.


 

Picture 10 - the claimed chemical now appears in black indicating it is in your possession

You can see that the item you just claimed now appears in black text to indicate it is in your possession.

Scroll up to bring back the status bar and menu button.

Collect your chemical from its previous owners and move it to the correct new location, taking account of any transport precautions suggested in the item’s record.
