Information for managers when a new member of staff joins their team.
Visit HR Services
All managers should ensure new staff members visit HR Services (second floor, Simon Building) to:
- complete all joining documentation and ID checks
- obtain a staff card
- be set up on the payroll system
- obtain a new staff induction and information booklet.
Health and safety
All new starters will be issued with a Health and Safety checklist.
For health and safety information relating to specific roles (e.g. working in laboratories or with hazardous materials), please refer to the Faculty Health and Safety pages.
All new members of staff will be contacted by the Staff Training and Development Unit (STDU) with an invitation to a welcome event.
Staff are strongly encouraged to attend – the event provides an opportunity to learn about working at the University to ask any questions about your employment here.
All new members of staff will be sent information about any mandatory training courses they need to take.
