Changes to organisation structure

It is the policy of the University by careful forward planning, to ensure, as far as possible, security of employment for all our employees. However it is recognised that there will from time to time be changes which may affect staffing requirements.

The University together with the campus trade unions, has developed and agreed a new framework for managing change. The suite of new and revised policies and procedures set out the steps we will take to safeguard the employment of staff and how we will manage circumstances which may affect staffing needs. They will provide a consistent and fair approach.

Reorganisation means more than just changes in formal structures.  It typically involves not only substantial alterations in organisational and managerial systems and processes but potentially far reaching changes to culture and behaviour as well.

Reorganisations are an important part of a manager's role and it is vital that to succeed managers understand what is key to managing change successfully.

Managers should always involve their HR Partner prior to beginning any change to organisational structures.
