How to obtain a staff ID card
Before you start work you need to visit People Services to complete all the necessary documentation and employment checks. People Services will set you up on the payroll system and issue you with a staff card.
You will be asked for proof of your identity. A copy of your identity documents will be kept for legal and security requirements and filed in accordance with the University's retention of documents policy.
Your staff card is for proof of identification and you are required to carry this with you at all times whilst on campus. You will need this:
- to access buildings and car parks
- to access and use the library facilities
- to obtain your email account
- for security purposes

Please note our People Services Reception opening hours are Monday to Friday 09:00 – 12:30 and 13:30 – 16:00 (except bank holidays)
Getting set up for IT access
Once you have completed all the formal documentation required above, you must allow 24 hours for your staff record to be set up. After which you will be able to use your staff ID number, which is printed on your staff card, to register and set up your IT account.

Personal /payroll details
During your recruitment you will have provided People Services with your personal and bank account details. This will be used to set you up on the system. However, during your employment you are required to inform the University of any changes to your details, (e.g.) change of name, address, emergency contact details, bank account details, or equality information.
You can update these yourself my logging into My View, this is our online system through which you can view your payslips.
