Teaching, Learning and Students

The Teaching Learning and Students Division aims to support the success of our students through every stage of their learning experience by providing accessible, proactive and innovative services and learning resources, enhanced by positive staff-student interactions.

    Head of Customer Services and Teaching Learning and Students

    Strategic lead for the Library’s Teaching, Learning and Student activity, providing leadership to the Teaching, Learning and Students Team to ensure the delivery of a set of high quality, innovative and sector leading services. Other responsibilities include co-leading the Staff Management Forum and chairing the Library Leadership Team.

    Associate Director, Teaching and Learning Development

    Leads on the Library’s work on teaching and learning, ensuring it is collaborative, updated and aligned with student, University and sector demands.

      Teaching and Learning Services Manager 

      Responsible for the management of Teaching Learning and Students (TLS) services with a focus on service design, development, and delivery.

      Teaching and Learning Services Manager and Copyright Manager

      Responsible for the management of Teaching Learning and Students (TLS) services, and Strategic Lead for the Library’s Copyright Guidance Service

    eLearning Manager

    Leads on the Library’s eLearning support, including the development of open online resources and tools for learning in TLS and Library services, the use and embedding of our support around the University, sharing our practice and expertise across the University/sector, and promoting and supporting the reuse of our work. worldwide.

    Assistant Teaching Learning and Students Manager

    Working with the TLS Managers to manage, organise and direct the work of the staff assigned to TLS services in order to ensure services are operating efficiently and effectively. Designing, developing and delivering high quality, innovative teaching, learning and training materials (both online and face to face) for the Library’s learning programmes and contribute to the Library’s Enquiry service.

      eLearning Technologist

      Working with the eLearning manager to lead the development of our eLearning offer and the pedagogy of our approaches. Providing expertise and advice on eLearning to the eLearning Support Officer, others in TLS and the Library, the University and the sector.

    Learning Developers

    Collaborates with students and staff to develop and deliver innovative, inclusive and pedagogically sound teaching and learning across all Library Teaching and Learning services. Contributes pedagogic expertise, quality assurance guidance, as well as leading on and taking part in relevant research projects.

Teaching and Learning Librarian (Alliance Manchester Business School)

Responsible for the design, development and delivery of high quality, innovative teaching, learning and training materials (both online and face to face) for the Library’s learning programmes. Supporting students and staff via the Library’s Enquiry and Chat services to provide expert help on specialist topics. Provides specific support in the use of specialist business and financial information databases for the Alliance Manchester Business School.

Teaching and Learning Librarian (Data Specialist)

Responsible for the design, development and delivery of high quality, innovative teaching, learning and training materials (both online and face to face) for the Library’s learning programmes. Supporting students and staff via the Library’s Enquiry and Chat services to provide expert help on specialist topics. Provides specific support and liaison in the use and analysis of specialist business and financial information databases.

Teaching Learning and Students Officer (Widening Participation)

Responsible for ensuring the Library’s teaching and learning offer supports students from widening participation backgrounds in line with the University’s wider widening participation and social responsibility goals.

Coordinating and collaborating on the teaching and learning activities across Library teaching programmes.

Teaching, Learning and Students Administrator

Supports the coordination and assists in the teaching and learning activities across Library teaching programmes

Teaching, Learning and Students Interns

Student Team

The Library Student Team are a group of 15-25 students who undertake paid work alongside Library staff. The main remit of the Student Team is to support learning and the student experience within the Library.

The Student Team bring the student voice to and support My Learning Essentials, Specialist Library Support, My Research Essentials, and Widening Participation in delivering a variety of services, campaigns and events.

The Student Team are instrumental in the Library’s work to increase access to our collections and expertise to students and the wider community.
