Guiding principles
Guiding principles for the Directorate Management Teams (DMT).
The Directorate Management Teams will evolve over time and will build on the following key principles and scope:
Meeting purpose
- To ensure a consistent approach to management of the Directorate.
- To encourage knowledge sharing and joined up thinking across the Directorate.
- To encourage innovation and new ways of working within the Directorate.
- To support managers across the Directorate in dealing with challenges.
- To foster a strong culture of collective responsibility for the management of the Directorate.
Remit of DMT
1. Managing activity associated with Directorate-level operational plans
Including:
- Ideation and initiation of new projects within the Directorate
- Managing pipeline of new projects across the Directorate
- Reviewing lessons learnt on their completion
- Reporting significant project issues to LLT and LET, when appropriate
2. Co-ordination of cross-Directorate activity
Including:
- Budgets
- HR
- Staff development
3. Managing communication and key messages throughout the Directorate and ensuring good communication flow to other Directorates and to LLT and LET
4. Handing any escalations from any teams in the Directorate, where appropriate
Meeting reporting
Actions and decisions recorded and shared, as appropriate.
