Bringing our P&OD and EDI strategies to life

25 Oct 2022

What will you continue to do, or do differently?

Banji Adewumi, Director of EDI, and Adéle Mackinlay, Director of P&OD

Dear colleagues,

We are delighted to share the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and People and Organisation Development (P&OD) strategies with you.

These strategies set out our aims for the next three years and are vital to achieving many of the goals set out in the Our people, our values theme that sits at the heart of our University strategic plan, Our future. They will enable us to create a place to work and study that embeds equality, values diversity and promotes inclusion, and where all our people can thrive.

Both strategies have been put together based on your ideas and suggestions. Many of you, staff, students, alumni, partners, and members of the wider Manchester city region, took the time to share ideas and we’d like to take this opportunity to thank you.

We will be going into more depth over the next few weeks to provide an overview of each strategy.

We will also be out and about over the coming months to talk more about what these strategies mean for you, and your role in continuing to ensure Manchester is a great institution and place to work and study.

Your role

While our Directorates will play a key role in leading these strategies, you, our wider community and leadership are essential for achieving the ambitions that are set out.

So, we encourage you to think about your contribution – what will you continue to do, or do differently? Please share your pledge on the Padlet board below.

Best wishes,

Banji Adewumi, Director of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

Adéle Mackinlay, Director of People and Organisational Development
