Digital capabilities

Digital capabilities help build the knowledge, skills, and confidence to work in a changing digital environment. Supporting development beyond day-to-day tasks, including AI and new ways of working that will help Library staff contribute to Imagine 2035.

The resources in this section support development in areas such as AI, digital content, inclusion and wellbeing, and complement the practical guidance in Essential digital skills.

University opportunities

  • The Digital Learning Hub - is the University’s central resource for developing digital skills, offering self-paced learning, training guides, and tools to support staff in using digital technologies effectively. 
  • Digital Skills - LinkedIn Learning Pathway – a collection of videos on digital skills e.g. Excel, SharePoint, Power BI and Microsoft Office365 (You will need to log into LinkedIn Learning to access this). 
  • Digital Wellbeing – explore this resource to understand the impact of technologies and digital services on mental, physical and emotional health.
  • AI Hub - A range of training resources to help you learn more about AI and develop your AI skills further.
  • Digital Inclusion – This website provides practical guidance and support to help you build accessibility into your digital content and resources.
  • Career Essentials in Generative AI -MyDevelopment - This 6-hour course will help you to gain essential skills to harness generative AI in your career. It covers content creation, key models, future trends, ethical considerations, and tools like Microsoft Copilot.
  • Social Media Practitioner – MyDevelopment – This up to 2-hour course is designed to equip you with the best practices, tools, and strategies needed to become a confident and capable social media practitioner.
