About the team

Provide high standards of services to staff and visitors, including an exceptional visitor experience and exemplary care for the fabric of the Rylands . Maintain excellent customer service and support for researchers using Special Collections materials on all sites and ensuring the smooth operation of activities within the John Rylands Research Institute and Library.

Reader Services enable researchers to work on our world leading special collections in our modern reading rooms. We engage with visitors to the John Rylands Research Institute and Library. Reader Services maintains, keeps secure and cleans the University’s only Grade 1 listed building. We run the Rylands shop and also manage non-academic events and filming at the Rylands.
