Inclusive Recruitment Toolkit Launch
28 May 2026
The Library EDI Inclusive Recruitment Group is pleased to announce the Library-wide launch of an Inclusive Recruitment Toolkit.
The toolkit is available for all staff to use and aims to develop good practice which will strengthen consistency and fairness across Library recruitment. It is designed for you to dip in and out of depending on where you are at in the recruitment process and is therefore split into 4 sections: Pre-recruitment; Preparing for the interview; Interview; and Post-interview. The toolkit can be accessed directly or via the Library Staff Learning and Development Hub recruitment page and we encourage everyone to use it for any upcoming recruitment you might have. If you have any feedback on the toolkit, there's a short feedback survey at the end of the resource.
The Group are also seeking Inclusive Recruitment advocates who are happy to familiarise themselves with the toolkit and encourage inclusive practices during any recruitment they're involved in. They hope to have a mix of recruiting managers and potential panel members at any grade, with representation across each directorate. If you'd like to volunteer for this, please let the Group know, or sign up to their Breakout session at the Together26 Conference to find out more, explore the toolkit, and build confidence contributing to recruitment exercises.
If you have any questions about the toolkit, please contact Padma Inala or Abigail Harrison-Henshall.
