Two teams from Manchester competed in Wild Trials hosted by Sheffield University over the weekend of 1 April.
Wild Trials challenge students to respond to 16 different medical emergency scenarios set outdoors in remote settings. The teams had multiple casualties to assess and treat; and cases included a car crash, climbing and caving accidents and even an obstetric emergency.
Competitors were assessed on management, teamwork and communication skills; and our two teams of four (of mixed year groups) finished a respectable fourth and 20th out of a field of 21 from 15 universities across the country.
