Blue 1 reopens with improved facilities for Library users

The Blue 1 PC cluster area in Main Library has reopened following a summer refurbishment programme to improve accessibility, technology provision and the overall user experience.

The work forms part of the Library's ongoing commitment to enhancing study environments and responding to student feedback.

The refurbishment has introduced a range of improvements designed to support a wider variety of study needs and learning styles, including:

Additional height-adjustable desks to improve accessibility and flexibility
More plug sockets
New laptop docking stations
New desks throughout the space

Colleagues are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the new facilities so they can confidently answer student enquiries and help promote the improvements available in Blue 1. Information about laptop docking stations will also be added to relevant Library webpages.

Thank you to everyone across the Library who supported the project, including colleagues involved in planning, spaces coordination, communication and operational delivery. Your work has helped ensure that students returning for the new academic year have access to an enhanced study environment from the start of semester 1.
