The Student Team Takeover

Our new showcase, ‘The Student Team Takeover’, is on display at Main Library from Tuesday, 1 September 2026.

This fifth Main Library showcase has been curated by members of the Library Student Team, who have chosen items from our University Heritage Collections and the Student Ephemera Collection that resonate with them. These include items depicting the expression of sexuality while at The University of Manchester, student experiences of racism, and the celebration of heritage and identity in cultural events. 

‘The Student Team Takeover’ will also display two 1969 copies of the student magazine, ‘EAR’. Look out for our submissions box next to the display case, from which the Student Team will produce an issue of ‘EAR’ that will be added to the display later in the exhibition period. 

The showcase runs from September 2026 – February 2027, at Blue Ground in Main Library. Entry is free.
