AI Knowledge Exchange: Show and Tell
08 Apr 2026
Join us for a practical show-and-tell session on how Library colleagues use AI in their work.
- When: Tuesday, 21 April, 11am – 12pm.
- Where: Ground Floor Seminar Room, Main Library
In this session, Lucy May (Open Research Manager) will provide a short behind the scenes look at how the Office for Open Research has been using Copilot to produce weekly service summaries to share progress, developments and insights across service teams. Lucy will share the aims of this experiment, the workflow they have developed, early insights including team feedback, and some of the quirks and challenges met along the way (including a once perfect Agent that’s suddenly behaving strangely!). This is a short, honest take on the ups and downs that can arise when using CoPilot which we hope Library colleagues will find useful.
Mark Ogden (Teaching and Learning Librarian) will also discuss the recent developments the Teaching, Learning and Students Team has made with AI. This includes the new workshop, 'GenAI tools and learning' which has launched for staff and students and explores how GenAI tools can be used in line with academic integrity, effective learning practices, and the ever changing nature of the technology itself. Mark will discuss the development of the workshop, how it aligns with existing pedagogy and challenges encountered on the way. He will also touch on upcoming AI projects the Team is working on.
You will hear honest reflections on what is working well, what is proving challenging, and what colleagues are learning along the way. There will be time to share your own experiences and help shape future AI Knowledge Exchange sessions. We will close with time for questions and a short feedback form.
