PGCert in HE applications open for 2025/26

Applications are open for the next round of the University of Manchester’s Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGCert in HE).

This programme, run internally by the University and featuring a module delivered by the Library, asks current members of staff to reflect on the wider context of higher education, teaching and learning. It is free, and it can form an important part of your continuing professional development.

To manage demand, the Library runs an internal application process. If you are interested in the programme, please:

1. Discuss your interest with your line manager, as you will need to attend sessions during working hours.

2. Write a no-more-than 350 word piece that sets out:

• how attending this programme fits with your role and/or development goals;
• how you will use what you have learned on the programme to benefit staff and students (you will be able to reuse this for the formal PgCert application, if you are selected to go forward this year).

Please register your interest by completing the Library PGCert in HE form by 5pm, Friday 13 June 2025. You will have a response from the Library by Friday 20 June 2025 letting you know if you have been successful this time. If you are successful you will then need to apply using the official PGCertHE form by 27 June 2025.
