This year’s Academic Libraries North staff conference will be held online on the afternoon of Wednesday 6th and the morning of Thursday 7th July 2022.
The conference title is “The Time is Now: Active Approaches to Inclusivity” and the description is;
“As libraries we pride ourselves on the friendly, welcoming and inclusive nature of our services and staff, but increasingly recognise that this may not be the experience for all members of our library and university communities. This conference is an opportunity to highlight the positive actions that are being taken to promote equity and tackle inequities within libraries and adjacent services. But also a chance to look critically at whether our libraries are really inclusive and supportive, considering whether we are avoiding enacting meaningful change to maintain the status quo. How can we be the change that we want to see? “
A list of sessions and abstracts is available on the conference website and the full programme will be published at a later date.
We would, of course, like to support as many people as possible to attend but, in order to manage numbers, we will review all applications and, if needs be, ensure an equitable spread of delegates from across the Library’s Directorates.
If you would like to attend, please email me in the first instance no later than Friday June 17th.
