Shazia's 10K for Parkinson's UK

Shazia Dar from the School of Computer Science is doing the Great Manchester Run to raise money for Parkinson's UK

On Sunday 22nd May 2016, Shazia will be taking part in the Manchester 10k run to raise money for Parkinson's UK. Parkinson's Disease is a progressive neurological disorder which affects 127,000 people in the UK alone, including Shazia's mum, who has had the condition for 12 years. At present, there is no cure. Parkinson's UK people with the disease, their families and also fund vital research. 

Seeing this debilitating condition take her mum away gradually over the past decade has been tough but the courage still shown by her and everyone else with the illness to keep fighting every day is remarkable. Through no fault of their own, they have been affected by Parkinson's which is why it is so crucial that a cure is found.
