Industry opportunities
CILIP
CILIP is the UK’s library and information association which works to improve services, development expertise and champion the sector. It offers resources, support and guidance to help all levels of Library staff. Please discuss with your line manager if you would like to take up any of the opportunities offered by CILIP.
SCONUL
SCONUL is the Society of College, National and University Libraries. It promotes the awareness of the role of academic libraries in supporting research excellence and student achievement and employability and represents their views to government, regulators and stakeholders. As well as events, it has a number of publications about industry issues.
Academic Libraries North
Academic Libraries North is a consortium of 33 higher education libraries in the north of England and a subgroup of SCONUL. Through collaborative activities and mutual support, they provide opportunities for members in the exchange of knowledge and experience.
Library Juice Academy
The Library Juice Academy offers a range of online professional development workshops for librarians and other library staff, focusing on practical topics to build new skills.
OCLC
The OCLC is a global library cooperative which supports thousands of libraries in making information more accessible and more useful to people around the world. They hold regular webinars, presented by experts from around the world, on the OCLC website.
