Service managers: you need to review the Library’s service database

12 Jul 2022

Help the Business Planning team update and relaunch our central overview of Library services.

What is the service database?

In early 2020, the Library created a central service database to support all staff to better understand the Library’s holistic offer, and to use that insight when developing and improving services in their areas. The service database gives a staff a top-level overview of all the services that the Library offers to its different customer groups, as well as providing detail about what each service offers to customers.

The Business Planning team is now working to update the service database, and to provide a better user experience by transferring it from Excel into the Library Planning App in Power BI.

To achieve this, all service managers must review the current version of the service database in the Staff Management Forum Teams area by Friday, 30 September 2022.

What you need to do

If you manage any Library services, please check that the services you are responsible for are accurately represented in the service database. Check that:

  • all your services are included in the database
  • the description of any service you manage is accurate
  • the correct customer groups are identified for any service you manage

If you need to update any information in the database, please email details to Michael Douglas, Business Intelligence Analyst.

What will happen next?

Once the new service database is available in the Library Planning App, it will be launched to all Library staff.
