The Christabel Pankhurst Institute and Translation Manchester are pleased to announce the launch of the Pankhurst Health Technology Translation Toolkit, a new resource designed to support the translation of health technologies from research to patient benefit. This toolkit is for academics, industry professionals, and NHS staff involved in the development of health technologies such as software as a medical device, non-invasive medical devices, and implantable/invasive medical devices.

The toolkit offers a range of features to help navigate the complexities of bringing research and innovations to the healthcare sector. Please see the translation toolkit flyer for more details on its features. Users will have access to: step-by-step guides for translating health technologies, a progress tracker to monitor key translational milestones, a resource database and a support network directory to aid the translational process, as well as real-world examples of health technology innovations from The University of Manchester.

About the toolkit, Professor Alex Frangi, Director of the Christabel Pankhurst Institute, said: "Translation and innovation are key priorities of the Christabel Pankhurst Institute. This toolkit helps colleagues understand the steps required to bring health technology innovations to real-world application. It offers practical guidance for navigating the translational pathway, while also supporting the institution in evaluating its portfolio of health technology innovations."

We will be introducing the toolkit and its functionality in an upcoming webinar. More information on this will be shared soon. In the meantime, please save the date 1 April 2025, 10-11am.

We invite you to explore the toolkit and discover how it can support your translational research.

To access the toolkit, please visit: translation-toolkit.manchester.ac.uk  or contact translation-toolkit@manchester.ac.uk for further information.

We are excited to see how this toolkit will help you identify, prevent, and overcome translational bottlenecks to advance health technology innovation towards patient benefit
