06 May 2020

Quiz teaches pupils about how we can look after our brains and mental health

Scientists and students from the Division of Neuroscience and Experimental Psychology have developed a new online 'quizivity' for primary school children focussing the brain, hats and health.

The Thinking Cap was created in collaboration with the Hat Works Museum in Stockport and artists from Interference Art. Originally planned as a workshop for primary school children, it has now been adapted as an online activity.

Dr Ellen Poliakoff who leads the Division's Widening Participation and Social Responsibility activities commented: "We are hoping that this quiz will help pupils learn about how the brain works and how we can look after our brains and mental health.

"We also link to the way that hats can help us look after our brains and the hatting heritage in Stockport. The activity crosses the curriculum spanning science, art, history and health and is hopefully fun too."
