University researchers launch The 2 Day Diet book

15 Feb 2013

This easy-to-follow, clinically proven diet has been developed during years of research by Dr Michelle Harvie and Professor Tony Howell from the Institute of Cancer Sciences.

The book was recently featured exclusively in the Daily Mail and is now available to buy on:

All author proceeds from The 2 Day Diet will fund Genesis Breast Cancer Prevention, the only UK charity entirely dedicated to the prediction and prevention of breast cancer.

Key facts about the diet

  • Years of clinical research have shown that intermittent dieting is more effective and easier to follow than a standard continuous diet.
  • The 2 Day Diet is also better for reducing levels of the hormone insulin, which is linked to breast cancer risk and other diseases.
  • It is designed to be nutritionally balanced and to maximise satiety, so you won’t feel hungry.
  • It is clinically proven to be more effective than normal dieting.
  • There is no calorie counting, just simple rules and guidelines to follow in the diet book.
  • The diet has been shown to “retrain” the appetite on the five unrestricted days of the week.
  • The diet maximises loss of fat but minimizes loss of muscle.
  • It provides clear advice and a plan on what to eat on both restricted days and the unrestricted days which is key to the overall success of the diet.
