Meet our new Security Officers
12 Sep 2012
University Security welcomes seven new colleagues.
The seven are (from left to right in the photo): Andrew Carr, Christian Rainford, Nancy Barnes, Mandla Nxumalo, Chris High, Phillip Kay and Les Edwards.
They have come to the University from security or security-related roles in a variety of other sectors including: IT and communications, utilities, police community support, local government, hotel and retail.
After a four-day induction covering topics such as health and safety, roles, procedures and handling emergencies, the seven new officers have now joined their respective crews and you’ll see them out and about on campus in future.
Commenting on his first impressions of the University, Chris High said “The campus and the surrounding areas are huge! There are a lot of streets, buildings and areas to get to know - and remembering the names of my 80 or so immediate work colleagues is a task in itself.
“But everyone has made me feel very welcome and I am looking forward to the challenges of the new student year.”
