Unearthed: Ancient Egypt
Until
Friday 31 August, 11am-4pm

Drop-in, free, all ages

Visit our Unearthed: Ancient Egypt exhibition and help our Egyptologist Dr Digby (played on film by Terry Deary, author of Horrible Histories) investigate and record his finds. Create your own archaeological treasures from paper. 

  • Tues 28-Fri 31 Aug, 11am-4pm: Make bookmarks and decorate with ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs.

Magic Carpet: West Africa
Friday 31 August, 10.30-11.30am & 11.30am-12.30pm

Baby Explorers

In an incredible article published in 1952, Alan Turing suggested that everything from the spots and stripes on animals to the arrangement of pine cones and flowers could be explained by the interactions between two chemicals. Be inspired by patterns in nature to create some textile masterpieces by translating an initial sketch onto cloth with embroidery, embellishment and mixed media.
