Blackboard 9 unavailable from 2am to 4am on Friday 17 August

13 Aug 2012

Two-hour downtime to allow the administration team to perform tests on the database server.

Who is affected?

All staff and students.

What is happening?

The Blackboard managed hosting database administration team will be performing tests on our database server to ensure it is running at optimal levels. To facilitate this, there will be a 2 hour downtime on Friday morning (17/8/2012).  During this time Blackboard will be unavailable to staff and students.

No changes will be made to Blackboard.

What does this mean for you?

You will not have access to Blackboard between 2am – 4am on Friday.

What do you have to do?

Staff should remind students of this downtime.  Please ensure that any online activities in which you are asking students to participate take into account this downtime.  Please adjust any deadlines as appropriate.

We have advised students to plan work to take into account the downtime and ensure any materials they may require during the downtime have been downloaded.
