HEI Seminar on 23 June 2011

02 Jun 2011

'League Tables - an overview' with Helen Barton and Paul Govey

The final HEI Seminar of the season will take place on Thursday 23 June 2011, 12.30pm-1.45pm. Light refreshments will be available from 12.10pm, and booking is required. Places can be booked online at:

  • Training and Development by selecting the option Training Courses, the course is BF50: HEI (Higher Education Seminars)

The topic will be ‘League tables - an overview’, presented by Helen Barton (Head of the Planning Support Office) and Paul Govey (Head of Student Marketing and Admissions).

Position in University league tables is obviously an imperfect way for students to judge the experience they will receive on any particular course of study. However, for many, especially overseas, students the ranking is important and may influence their choice of which University to attend.

This session will outline some of the issues relating to published data about the University and what we can do to influence this is a fair and positive way.
