‘Astro Kids Day’ at Jodrell Bank

04 Aug 2010

Summer fun for junior astronomers on 19 August!

Jodrell Bank is playing host to a fun-packed day out for all the family this summer.

‘Astro Kids Day’ is taking place on Thursday 19 August between 10.30am and 4pm at the observatory and radio telescope near Macclesfield, Cheshire.

The day includes planetarium shows and a special ‘Ask the Astronomer’ session where you’ll be able to put your burning astronomy questions to scientists based at Jodrell Bank.

There’s also arts and crafts and story telling for younger members of the family.

And if the sun is shining, then why not bring along a picnic - there are plenty of places to enjoy your sandwiches while taking in the beautiful surrounding countryside and arboretum.

Tickets cost £7 for adults and £5 for children, while under 5s are free. Alternatively you can buy a family ticket for £20 which gives entry to two adults and two children.
