Teaching and Learning Conference 2010

13 May 2010

On 6 July at Manchester Conference Centre

On Tuesday 6 July 2010, the Teaching and Learning Support Office will be hosting the annual Teaching and Learning Conference which, this year, will take place at the Manchester Conference Centre. The theme of the conference is "Learning from the Student Experience". Aaron Porter (National Union of Students) will be delivering a keynote presentation. In addition, delegates will be able to attend sessions delivered by Teaching Excellence Award winners, past and present.

The conference will finish with a panel discussion which will be led by Professor Colin Stirling, Vice President (Teaching and Learning). Delegates will have an opportunity to ask the panel questions which should be submitted prior to the conference, on your booking form.

The conference is free to attend, however the event is always oversubscribed, so places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

If you book a place but are then unable to attend, can you please inform:

The Teaching and Learning Support Office will consider a charge of £40 for non-attendance or cancellation of 24 hours notice or less.

The draft agenda for the conference is available at:

Once the parallel sessions are confirmed, details will be sent out to successful delegates to prioritise their session choices.

To reserve a place at the Conference, please complete:

and return it by Friday 4 June 2010.

Once registered, the Teaching and Learning Support Office will e-mail you to confirm your booking. Unsuccessful applicants will be informed, if all places are full.

There will be a limited number of poster display places available on the day of the conference. If you are interested in bringing along a poster (A2 size), please could you let us know, along with an idea of the subject matter of the proposed poster and we will confirm whether we have a place to accommodate your poster. There is space on the booking form for you to give details of any proposed posters.
