Do something amazing - give blood!

30 Oct 2009

Donate on North Campus on 9 November

The National Blood Service will be running a donor session on the North Campus on:

  • Monday 9 November (10am-12 noon & 2pm-4pm)

The session will be held at:

  • Harwood Room, Barnes Wallis Building, Altrincham Street (off Sackville Street)

All university staff are welcome to attend, roll up their sleeves and give a pint of the red stuff.

For more information about donor eligibility, the donation process and who benefits from receiving blood please visit:

To make an appointment to donate on Monday, please call:

  • 0300 123 23 23

Each donation can go towards saving or improving the lives of up to three people and really does make a massive difference to the lives of others.

The National Blood Service are particularly keen to welcome new and previous donors to come along and donate as they need to ensure they have sufficient stocks of blood during the flu season. Anyone suffering with flu or flu-like symptoms cannot donate temporarily, so if you've always intended to donate and not got round to it, now would be a great time to start!

If this is not a convenient time or location for you, please note that the National Blood Service has a permanent Donor Suite only a few minutes' walk from many University buildings at:

  • Manchester Apheresis Centre
    Plymouth Grove (Grafton Street junction)
    Manchester
    M13 9LL

The Donor Suite is open five days a week for most of the year. You can walk in and give blood, but it's best to make an appointment by telephoning:
