08 Sep 2008

Free event on 24 September at Central Library.

Wednesday 24 September, 1pm
Manchester Central Library, St Peter's Square, Manchester, M2 5PD
Free and unticketed

Locally-based poets studying for PhDs in the subject will unveil their work to the public at a special lunchtime reading on 24 September.

The free showcase of work by students at The University of Manchester's Centre for New Writing will be hosted by Manchester Central Library, as part of the Centre's Literature Live series of events.

It will be the first chance to hear new poetry by the best emerging writers in the region, including Sarah Corbett, Simon Haworth, Evan Jones, Ian Pople and J T Welsch.

The event will take place in the library's popular lunchtime poetry readings slot, which has recently played host to Martin Espada, Petr Borkovec and Michael Symmons Roberts.

Literature Live is supported by Abode, Manchester.
