Policy and Guidance on bids for external funds for teaching and learning.

12 Jun 2008

New guidance has been developed to help staff apply for funding.

The University's Teaching and Learning Group has recently approved a new policy on submitting bids for external funds for teaching and learning (including eLearning). The Policy outlines the institutional approval process for the application of funds to external funding agencies such as the Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC) and the Higher Education Academy (HEA).

As outlined in the Policy, many external agencies now only fund one bid per institution so it is essential that the University has a coordinated approach and oversight of applications so that these can be prioritised according to internal strategic priorities.

To ensure that it receives widespread coverage it has also been sent to Heads of Schools for distribution to academic staff, Associate Deans for Teaching and Learning (undergraduate and postgraduate) and eLearning practitioners through the WebCT and Blackboard email lists.
