Disability Equity course for all staff

30 Mar 2023

New eLearning course for all staff

A new eLearning course has been launched for all colleagues to help raise awareness of the barriers faced by disabled people.

Disability Equity, a new eLearning course provided by Disability Advisory and Support Services, has been launched today and is available for all staff.

The course has been launched as it is vital to ensure we all have a good understanding and awareness of the barriers that disabled people can face so that we can be anticipatory, inclusive, respectful and supportive.

All current staff have been enrolled onto the course and can access the course on Blackboard after logging in with Duo. New staff joining our University from today will complete the course as part of Essential courses for all new staff and line managers are advised to ensure all new starters complete the training alongside the other essential courses.

Professor Judy Williams, Associate Vice-President for Teaching, Learning and Students said: 'I encourage all staff to complete this training, it is important that we understand the legal requirements to support our disabled students and staff, and more importantly, the most effective and efficient ways of providing support that enables all of our students and staff to thrive and reach their potential.
