Our UoM Sport team is looking for volunteers for their upcoming Purple Wave events in March and May
The first Purple Wave events this year are the 2.5k/5k runs which are taking place at Platt Fields Park.
The UoM Sport team is looking for route marshalls and general volunteers who can help out on Wednesday, 1 March.
Great Manchester Run - our Purple Wave
The main event is the AJ Bell Great Manchester Run 10k and half marathon which will take place in Manchester city centre on Sunday, 21 May 2023. Every year, a huge number of colleagues, students and alumni take part in our Purple Wave entry for this major event. The team is looking for cheerpoint volunteers, who are always a huge encouragement to our runners, and base camp volunteers - you will need to be available on Sunday, 21 May. Help is also needed to distribute our purple t-shirts (various dates available over the coming weeks).
Taking part in Purple Wave events
It's not too late to sign up for any of the Purple Wave events - whether you want to run, jog or walk! And if you choose to register as a Purple Wave fundraiser, supporting Manchester’s cancer research, your entry will be free!
