Financial wellbeing, Sober October and Free Wills Month

The cost of living crisis is at the forefront of all our minds. The financial wellbeing page is constantly being updated to ensure useful information in these difficult times. There is now a section signposting hints and tips. These include on campus ways to save and signposting to national websites that specialise in various aspects of financial wellness.

With UniDiscounts there are ways to help you save day to day.

Electrical appliances for the home are always a significant purchase. The Hotpoint Privilege Purchase Club is a members only scheme, offering exclusive pricing on over 850 different appliances including three great brands to choose from, Whirlpool, Hotpoint & Indesit. Products range from washing machines, refrigeration, cookers and dishwashers to Hotpoint’s Small Domestic Appliance range. Juicers, kettles, toasters etc. All appliances are pre-discounted. There is an enhanced discount until 2nd October and from the 3rd – 31st October you can 25%. Additional services are also available.

Vivup

You can save each time you go to the supermarket with Vivup e-vouchers enabling you to save between 4-7% depending on your choice of supermarket. In the coming months many of you will be wanting to save where you can on day to day expenses, and on significant purchases for Christmas. Vivup has many leading high street deals. Sober October

Get involved in Sober October by going alcohol-free in October to raise money for people with cancer. By going sober, you're not just helping others, you're helping yourself too. Giving up the booze for a month comes with loads of feel-good benefits, but the feeling of raising vital funds for the millions of people with cancer in the UK is the best feeling of all. Free wills month

Free Wills Month brings together a group of well-respected charities to offer members of the public aged 55 and over the opportunity to have their simple Wills written or updated free of charge by using participating solicitors in selected locations across England, Northern Ireland and Wales. An up to date Will written by a solicitor ensures your wishes are respected. It also avoids difficult decisions and legal complications for your loved ones.
