Swiss Deputy Ambassador in the UK to deliver guest lecture

10 Jun 2022

Staff and students are invited to attend this event on Wednesday 15 June, 2pm - 3pm, Theatre A, Roscoe Building

The guest lecture will be delivered by the Swiss Deputy Ambassador in the UK, Ms Chantal Moser, on the topic of:

“The Neutral Country in the Heart of Europe: Switzerland’s Foreign Policy”

A close neighbour of the EU but not a member state, a mid-sized economy but a global competitiveness and innovation leader, a centre for international cooperation but neutral – Switzerland has a unique position in many regards. Famous for its federalism and direct democracy, what are this country’s priorities and strategies on the international stage? Do Switzerland’s reactions to the conflict in Ukraine affect its neutrality? And how does the country manage its multifaceted political, economic and cultural relations with both the UK and the EU?

These questions and more will be discussed during the guest lecture, followed by an opportunity for Q&A.

Please note that pre-booking your place is essential.
