Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health fully switched to new consultancy service – making it quicker and easier for colleagues who want to make an impact

Our Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health (FBMH) has fully switched to the University’s new consultancy service.

Consultancy is an important and effective way for staff at our University to share their expertise and knowledge with external clients across public, private and charitable sectors, while increasing their experience and involvement in real world challenges.

Our new dedicated Consultancy Services Team within the Business Engagement team replaces Faculty-based services, making it quicker and easier for you to consult them and make an impact with your research.

As our Vice-President for Research, Professor Colette Fagan, says: “Consultancy is very often the first step to something incredible.”

She adds: “Many of our most significant research collaborations started with a small piece of consultancy work. Consultancy is an ideal means for a client to test out the academic and their institute, build a relationship, and develop trust between everyone. Consultancy is also a means for translating research into impact as a follow on from a research project, for example in policy advisory roles to international agencies.

“You’ll get real life challenges and experiences, see your work make an impact, all while building collaborations and generating ideas and resources to support your research.

“A huge amount of engagement with colleagues has fed into the design and planning of this new consultancy service and I’m excited and confident that this will make it easier for more academics and researchers to undertake consultancy as part of their research and impact activity.”
