International Women's Day - Being a Male Ally, Wednesday 9 March, 10.15am - 11am

03 Mar 2022

Join Nalin Thakkar and Patrick Hackett for a discussion on the role of male allies at our University

Nalin Thakkar and Patrick Hackett

Male allies play a vital part in creating and developing a truly inclusive workplace – and society. But even those who put diversity and inclusion at the centre of their personal and professional lives have to stay aware, reflective and ready to challenge unconscious bias.

In this session, Patrick Hackett, Registrar, Secretary and Chief Operating Officer and Professor Nalin Thakkar, Vice-President for Social Responsibility will discuss the important role of male allies at our University and answer questions from attendees.

This year's International Women's Day campaign theme is #BreakTheBias.

#BreakTheBias is the start for a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination; one that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive. Difference is valued and celebrated.

We are all responsible for our own thoughts and actions - all day, every day and we can break the bias in our communities, our workplaces, our schools, colleges and universities. Together, we can all break the bias - on International Women's Day and beyond.
