New face coverings available on campus

19 Mar 2021

Enhanced protection with surgical face coverings

Our University has secured a supply of surgical face masks (IIR type) which we are making available from your Faculty or School and building entrances from now for the next few weeks.

It is a legal requirement to wear a face covering in indoor settings, unless you are exempt.

Other face coverings which meet government guidelines are also safe to use and you can continue to use these on campus and more widely.

If you work in a building where there is no reception you should liaise with your School or line manager for supplies.

The surgical face masks are manufactured to a recognised standard and are resistant to droplets of fluids and splashes. They are designed for extended use but should be disposed of if they become damaged, damp or contaminated.

Please continue to observe social distancing rules inside and outside and when travelling to campus.

If you are working or studying on campus, then free twice-weekly testing is available and strongly recommended.

Further information about the safety measures in place on campus is available on our website.
