Have you turned purple yet?

04 Dec 2017

Join today’s celebrations marking the 25th anniversary of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD)

IDPD

Connect with the Disability Staff Network (DSN), the Whitworth, the Manchester Museum, the University and people both with and without disabilities who are recognising this day.

Why this day is important

This is one of the most significant days in the calendar for focussing on contributions disabled people make to our communities, the economy and the barriers disabled people face. By making an impact around this day, this year - and in future years - we can help ensure that awareness of disability equality grows.

Getting involved

  • Engage with the Twitter campaign @UoMDSN #purplelightup
  • Take a selfie with the ‘Working for disability equality’ visual image and tweet!
  • Download and display the poster and encourage your colleagues to do so
  • Attend the autism friendly 9 am early opening at the Manchester Museum on Saturday, 9 December

Do more

Let’s bring disability equality into view. If you are interested in becoming a part of the DSN, email DSNetwork@manchester.ac.uk.
