Traffic measures in place for CityGames

Event with top flight athletes and fabulous atmosphere – but it may affect traffic this week

This Friday sees the CityGames taking place in the city centre.

It's going to be a fantastic event, with top flight athletes and what promises to be a fabulous atmosphere, but there will be traffic measures in place to accommodate this event.   

Please check whether you are likely to be affected. 

The temporary changes will be in place from 12 noon on Tuesday 17 May until 12 noon on Saturday 21 May as follows: 

  • Deansgate - closed to traffic between Quay Street and John Dalton Street 
  • Lloyd Street - temporarily two-way traffic between Deansgate and Southmill Street 
  • Jackson Row - temporarily two-way traffic between Deansgate and Southmill Street 
  • Bootle Street - closed to traffic between Deansgate and Jerusalem Place 
  • Atkinson Street - temporarily two-way traffic between Deansgate and Byrom Street 
  • Hardman Street - temporarily two-way traffic between Deansgate and Joddrell Street 
  • Wood Street - temporarily two-way traffic between Deansgate and Dolefield 
  • Junction of John Dalton Street and Deansgate - right turn allowed as a temporary measure
