Leading scholar on income inequality to speak at the Global Development Institute

Leading scholar on income inequality Branko Milanovic is to speak at the Global Development Institute (GDI) on ‘Globalization, migration and the future of the middle classes’.

Branko, currently a Presidential fellow at City University of New York and Visiting Presidential Professor and Senior Scholar in the Luxembourg Income Studies Center, has previously served as Lead Economist in the World Bank's research department.

He will discuss recent changes in global income distribution, the creation of a ‘global middle class’, stagnation of median incomes in the West and propose Kuznets cycles as a useful tool to understand these changes and their future evolution.

The event, from 4.30pm – 6pm on Tuesday, 22 March in the Cordingley Lecture Theatre, is free to attend.
