Learn something new at the University Language Centre
The University Language Centre offers a range of courses to staff, students and members of the public. The courses are offered on a part-time basis.
It also offers the following discounts on its language courses to University of Manchester Staff.
Cert TESOL – Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages
This course is aimed at prospective teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages with little or no experience of teaching. The course is a combination of input on theory, skills, methodology and teaching practice. It is validated by Trinity College London and successful completion leads to the formal award of Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CertTESOL).
The course is available as a 4 week full-time course, or a part-time course taught Tuesdays and Thursdays 5.30 – 7.30pm.
The course fee for September 2016 is £1,495, however University of Manchester staff are entitled to a 10% reduction of the tuition fee (£1345.50)

LEAP – Language Experience for All Programme
The University Language Centre offers part-time evening courses in a number of foreign languages which are open to staff.
Languages available include: Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Polish, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Turkish and Urdu.
Tuition fees for the language courses are usually £545 for a 2 semester course; however University of Manchester staff pay £330.
