Grand fundraising effort on World AIDS Day

22 Dec 2015

In 2015, three staff network groups raised nearly £1,000 for three charities which support people affected by HIV and AIDS

The University has undertaken a fundraising campaign, led by the E&D Office and LGBT Staff Network Group, every year since 2010.

This year, three staff network groups collaborated to raise more awareness and were many more collection boxes selling red ribbons on campus.

In 2014, we were proud to raise close to £500 for HIV and AIDS charities and this year we have smashed that total!

A grand sum of £955.32 was raised around campus through the sale of red ribbons (£232.44); a cake sales in Arthur Lewis (£103.15); Samuel Alexander (£245.75) and The School of Nursing £368.

This amount will be split between the three nominated charities:

All of these organisations support people and communities effected by HIV and AIDS

Thank you to everyone who participated by wearing a red ribbon or coming along to support one of the bake sales.  Every penny is immensely appreciated by these charities and we hope you will continue your support in 2016
