Liquid Crystals: public lecture and hands-on experiments

Members of staff and their children are invited to an exhibition (5–6.15pm) and lecture (6.30-7.30pm) on Monday, 7 September in C16, Renold Building
These events are part of the European Conference on Liquid Crystals (ECLC 2015), to be held in Manchester in September 2015 and co-chaired by Professor John Masters, School of Chemical Engineering and Analytical Science, and Helen Gleeson (recently of this University). The University is sponsoring the accompanying drinks reception.
The public lecture will be given by Professor John W Goodby FRS and Dr Stephen Cowling, from the Univerity of York.
Alumni and school children have also been invited to the event, which will be an entertaining yet instructive session, with hands-on practical experiments and a lecture full of demonstrations.
