Celebrating cultural diversity

October marks the beginning of Black History Month, with events happening across The University and city wide to celebrate culturally diverse achievements and contributions to society
This week, the black, minority and ethnic (BME) staff network celebrated Black History Month with a lively networking event bringing together 30 staff from across the university to meet and share perspectives informally over lunch. The event was supported by the Equality and Diversity Unit and Taste Manchester.
The BME staff network meets quarterly and is a forum to support and progress race equality within The University. The next BME network meeting is on the 19th November 2014. Contact the interim chair, erinma.ochu@manchester.ac.uk for details.
