Official Launch of the Manchester Centre for Health Economics

08 Oct 2013

The Manchester Centre for Health Economics (MCHE) will be holding an afternoon conference to officially launch the Centre within the Institute of Population Health.

Designed to appeal to anyone with an interest in health economics and in collaborating with the Centre, the conference will take place on Thursday, 28 November 2013 from 12pm and will take you on a tour of health economics and the evolution of the Centre from where it started to where it is going.

The Centre is extremely privileged to have Professor Alan Maynard as keynote speaker. A founding director of the University of York graduate programme in health economics in 1977,  Professor Maynard has enjoyed a long and distinguished career including acting as a specialist advisor to the Health Select Committee, World Bank and World Health Organisation and he was the Chair of the York NHS Foundation Trust Hospital from 1997-2010.  The conference will also provide an opportunity to hear from and meet with the Professors and researchers at MCHE.

This event will be hosted at the Manchester Dental Education Centre (MANDEC) entrance at the University Dental Hospital on Higher Cambridge Street.  A buffet lunch will be provided from 12pm with the conference starting promptly at 1pm and running until 4.30pm. An informal drinks reception will be held immediately following the conference which everyone is welcome to attend.
