Changes to the availability of Zoom

It was announced earlier this year that The University of Manchester will be moving video conferencing to Teams and not renewing the Zoom contract. From the new academic year in September, staff should start using Teams and stop using Zoom.

After the Zoom licenses have expired, accounts will revert to the free version (maximum of 40 minutes per meeting and 100 participants). You can use this account to join Zoom meetings hosted by others.

Teams can be used for external users just like Zoom, including a lobby, chat, Q&A etc. You can run a Live Event, Town Hall, Webinar or Large Meeting.
