WATCH: Our Distinguished Achievement Awards 2020

29 Jul 2020

Meet the winners of our awards which recognise outstanding performance across the University

The University of Manchester

As we are unable to get together in person, this year’s Distinguished Achievement Award winners are being recognised in a very different but no less important way than usual.

Now more than ever, it’s essential for us to recognise the outstanding performance of our staff and student winners from across the University so we have brought together a series of films, along with the winners’ written citations, to showcase and celebrate their talent and commitment.

Our President and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell, introduces the awards and urges colleagues to watch the films, read the citations and spread the word to family and friends: “I never fail to be astounded by the quality of the achievements and both the breadth and the depth of the activities in which our winners engage. Thank you to all of our winners for everything you do for our University.”

Nancy’s introduction is followed by films from members of the Senior Leadership Team who would normally present the winners and films from the winners themselves, all of which have been shot by the participants from their own homes.

Watch the President and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell give her introduction.

The Registrar, Secretary and Chief Operating Officer, Mr Patrick Hackett, speaks about the Professional Services and Cultural Institutions’ team and individual winners.
