Institute of Teaching and Learning Fellowships 2021/22

13 Apr 2021

A message from Professor April McMahon, Vice-President for Teaching, Learning and Students

The Institute of Teaching and Learning (ITL) is now welcoming applications for the 2021/22 cycle of ITL Fellowships (Cohort 2).  This builds on our very successful inaugural round of Fellowships in the last year, and we're happy to be able to invite applications for the new posts from Academic and Professional Services colleagues who wish to work on a project to enhance an aspect of teaching and learning delivery across the University.  The projects undertaken by Cohort 2 Fellows will be aligned with one or both of the following strategic themes:

  • Flexible learning and digital delivery
  • Inclusivity and engagement

Institute Fellows will work with student partner interns throughout their Fellowship, and will receive project support and development opportunities from the Institute team.  Cohort 2 Fellowships will run from September 2021 to June 2022, with similar contract and buyout arrangements to Cohort 1: it is expected that each post will be an average 0.2 FTE contract over the course of the Fellowship, with a £10k buyout payment available to the relevant School/Service to facilitate the release of the Fellow's time (or to support an increase in hours or other arrangement where appropriate; where joint applications are received the £10k payment will be split between the appropriate schools/services).

As part of the application process, applicants must include confirmation from their Head of School, Director of Service or appropriate equivalent of their support of the application and their agreement to the financial and time implications in the case of appointment. This must be provided via the completed Expression of Interest form as part of any application, and applications must be submitted by the deadline on Monday, 19 April.
