Manchester University Press launches new website using Supadu

27 Jan 2016

To celebrate, there's 50% off all titles on the new website until 29 February

The new website uses a platform and plugin software from search and website specialists Supadu, who are changing the landscape for how the publishing industry build websites, add search and control their metadata.

Manchester University Press (MUP) commissioned the Supadu team to help re-develop and expand their portfolio of digital content through e-Books and online journals. The new website has allowed MUP to redefine their online presence and identity, to promote their strong publishing ethos and vision to global audiences. Having the ability to update the website, control metadata and products and add weight to search results are key features of the new site.

About the new website

Every aspect of the website’s structure has been overhauled. The MUP in-house team is now able to control their metadata in real time, add additional assets, such as video clips of authors speaking about their new titles, change book information, create new catalogues and boost their search all in a responsive environment. MUP now have full control on which elements show on the page through the WordPress dashboard and the ability to build and manipulate the websites static and dynamic data for campaigns.

Simon Bell, Sales and Marketing Director of MUP, said "As a university press recognised for publishing at exceptionally high standards, our website had to be no different. As a result we needed a team that could provide that often elusive combination of good design and technical functionality. Supadu gets the balance. From concept to live website, working with Supadu is like working with an extension of your own company."
